It is a great thing to be the ruler of a country, but the greatest when a president or a king is more than just a ruler, this is not an easy matter for a ruler to be the leader of a nation and founder of a civilization, and that exactly applies to the founding leader of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the Emirati Renaissance.
Sheikh Zayed was born in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which was ruled by his grandfather and later his father, Sheikh Zayed's political career began at a very young age, before becoming ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, succeeding his brother, that period was very difficult. It was not easy for Sheikh Zayed to develop a strategy for community development and achieve development in the emirate in light of the weak resources available at that time before the emergence of oil. It was like a miracle.
At the domestic level:
As we mentioned previously, Sheikh Zayed’s political career began early, and his policy continued after assuming the reins of power in the same way, improving the life of the citizen, and this was before the oil revolution, and working to secure his needs, and working diligently to improve society and its development, especially in terms of education and health, and this was in the sixties of the last century.
At the regional level:
Sheikh Zayed's outlook was ahead of its time, His Highness strived diligently to establish a federal union. At that time, it was impossible, but Sheikh Zayed did not know it was impossible. In the early seventies, he was able to establish a federal union that included seven emirates after each emirate was an independent state in its own right, and His Highness was the first president of the United Arab Emirates.
The oil revolution in the new union:
The discovery of oil helped accelerate the implementation of Sheikh Zayed's strategy, this strategy aims to achieve prosperity in modern Emirati society and build a modern, developed state, and build advanced infrastructure.
At the international level:
Sheikh Zayed sought to resolve international crises and send aid to disaster areas around the world and His Highness's great efforts to help with international stability, during his reign, the United Arab Emirates became at the forefront of aid donor countries around the world and as an important mediator in resolving disputes.
Sheikh Zayed was a unique leader. Oversight of state agencies was not sufficient to meet the needs of citizens and residents of the country, according to His Highness Sheikh Zayed used to do this personally. His Highness used to walk around the markets, meet citizens as well as foreign residents in public places, and listen to their problems and solve all of their problems.
Words cannot do Sheikh Zayed justice, His Highness humanitarian stances cannot be described in a few words, Sheikh Zayed has passed away, but his memory and humanitarian stances will remain eternal, the memory of His Highness will remain eternal in the hearts of millions who lived through his reign, not only citizens but also residents of the country who truly know who Sheikh Zayed is.
